Crystal Windows Executive Named to Fenestration Association
Board of Directors
FLUSHING, NY, January 26, 2010 C Crystal Window & Door Systems Executive Vice President Steve Chen has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Northeast Window & Door Association (NWDA) at the organizations winter meeting in York, PA. Representing more than 130 member companies of vinyl window and door manufacturers and suppliers, NWDA focuses on issues critical to the fenestration industry.
I am very excited to join the Board of the Northeast Window & Door Association, particularly at this crucial time in the industry, noted Steve Chen. The once-straightforward window manufacturing and sales business has become increasingly complex, with more stringent energy codes and efficiency standards, greater customer sophistication and awareness of product choices, and significantly more competition. NWDA provides its members with tremendous information and guides collective action on current issues, and Im looking forward to contributing in this leadership capacity.
In addition to this directorship, Steve Chen was recently appointed to the New York Federal Reserve Bank Advisory Council for Small Business. Locally in New York City, Steve serves on the Board of Directors for Queens Theatre in the Park and the College Point (NY) Board of Trade, and is a member of the Queensborough Community College Advisory Board on Continuing Education.
Steve Chen has received several recent business and industry recognitions. Glass Magazine named him one of its top 20 Under 40 industry executives, the Queens Chamber of Commerce ranked him as one of the boroughs Top Executives Under 40, and he received the Rising Star Award from a leading Queens business newspaper.
The Northeast Window & Door Association meets periodically during the year, offering seminars on the latest technologies and product innovations, as well as speakers on important legislative and regulatory issues impacting the industry. In recent years, the organization has increased its advocacy role, working with key government officials and influencers that help shape the industry and marketplace.
