Crystal Executive VP Steve Chen Named A "Rising Star"
- Window Manufacturing Executive Recognized As A Top Queens Business Leader Under 40 -

FLUSHING, NY, February 9, 2009 - Once again, the New York City business community has recognized the achievements and promise of Crystal Window & Door Systems Executive Vice President Steve Chen. Steve was honored recently as one of Queens' "Rising Stars," an award that highlights leaders under 40 that are making an impact in the business world of the city's second most populous borough. Last year, in 2008 the 1,200-member Queens Chamber of Commerce recognized Steve as one of Queens' Top 10 Business Executives Under 40 and Glass Magazine named Steve one of its annual "20 Under 40" top glass industry young executives nationwide.

"I am greatly honored to receive this recognition, and to know that my efforts in the business community are making a difference," said Steve Chen. "Queens has an extremely diverse and dynamic business environment. The "Rising Star" Award Program is championed by the Queens Courier and Queens Business Today, two major periodicals that serve the 2.2 million residents and tens of thousands of businesses in the New York City Borough of Queens. The awards were presented at Queens Theatre in the Park on February 5, 2009 at an impressive event with a gathering of several hundred attendees from business, community and government fields. Award recipients also received certificates of recognition from Queens Borough President Helen Marshall, State Senator Toby Stavisky, the New York City Council, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Sabrina Leung, head of Crystal's Architectural Window Division, accepted the award on behalf of Steve, who was traveling on business and could not attend the event.

Steve Chen is the son of Crystal founder and president Thomas Chen. He joined Crystal in 2003 after working in the finance and investment field. Steve is responsible for marketing strategy and daily operations of the national window and door manufacturer, and he oversees the company's Missouri-based aluminum extrusion subsidiary. Under his direction, company sales have grown significantly. Steve has also led the integration and upgrade of major technologies in company operations, the design of innovative product features and options, the implementation of ongoing customer service training, the enhancement of the corporate visual image, the improvement of customer communications, and he is spearheading the new "green corporate environmental initiatives. Steve is active with a number of business associations and community and charitable organizations.
