Crystal Windows Grows Sales Despite Poor Economy
- Manufacturer Reports Fiscal Year Revenue Increase -
FLUSHING, NY, May 13, 2011 Crystal Window & Door Systems, the award-winning national manufacturer, reported that despite the continued challenging economic climate, the company achieved a notable increase in sales for its fiscal year ending April 30, 2011. Crystals annual revenues from aluminum and vinyl windows and doors and high-end fenestration systems for the 12-month period May 1, 2010 through April 30, 2011, increased a very respectable 13% over the previous year. With sales growth in virtually all of the companys 21 years of existence, Crystal continues to be a major success story in the fenestration industry.
Sales in the New York Metro Area contributed the most towards the growth, with the New England and Midwest regions also contributing to a lesser degree. “It is a remarkable achievement for Crystal to continue to increase sales at a time when construction across the New York metro area and other regions is still depressed,” stated Steve Chen, Executive Vice President. " attribute a lot of our success to proactive efforts by our dedicated sales team to make Crystal the window manufacturer of choice for every type of project, large or small. The sales team’s efforts were focused, targeted and extremely well managed.”
Other factors also contributed to the companys increased sales. Early in 2010, Crystal launched a major radio advertising campaign on one of the largest New York metro area stations to increase awareness of the company and its advantages over competitors. We definitely saw sales increase throughout the region as a result of the campaign, and we added well over 100 new trade customers during that period, remarked Chen. In recent years, Crystal has invested in new production equipment to improve efficiency, shorten delivery times, and enhance quality. The company also upgraded its major vinyl product lines to Energy Star and other more advanced performance levels as well as encouraging homeowners to take full advantage of government incentives for new energy efficient windows. Our customers and our company have reaped the benefits of all these initiatives, said Chen.
Crystals success was all the more notable in light of a recent report by New York Building Congress on the construction outlook for New York City. This report indicated that overall construction spending in 2010 was down 12% compared with 2009, and down 23% compared with peak years of 2007 and 2008. For 2010, residential construction was down 14% over the prior year. In this economy, many property owners and construction firms turn to renovation rather than new construction. Crystal offers such a broad window product line in both vinyl and aluminum, we are readily able to supply both major renovation and smaller home remodeling projects throughout the New York area and the 35 states we distribute to, Chen observed.
