Crystal Windows Chicago Facility Expands Production
CHICAGO, IL, June 18, 2010 - Crystal Windows & Doors Illinois Manufacturing, commonly known as Crystal Chicago, is pleased to announce the expansion of its window production capabilities. Crystal Chicago is stocking new extrusion profiles and has added new equipment and retooled existing machinery to bring two additional Crystal vinyl window lines to the facilitys production operations.
While all of Crystals products have always been available to Midwest customers, the expansion in Chicago will improve turnaround by reducing delivery times with more of the product line manufactured now in Chicago as well as New York City. This expansion also increases the overall production capacity and flexibility of the Crystal Windows network of factories.
The expansion of production in Chicago is a major milestone in the integration started last fall between Crystal Chicago and its award-winning national affiliate Crystal Window & Door Systems, headquartered in New York City. Crystal Chicago plans further production expansion, improvements, and expanded distribution in the coming months.
The 80,000-ft2 Chicago plant has just added the Crystal Series 500 vinyl window and will soon be adding the Series 300 new construction vinyl window line to its existing production. Both vinyl window lines are Energy Star? qualified. Currently, Crystal Chicago manufactures the very popular Crystal Series 2000A and 4000 aluminum window lines, Series 1240 aluminum sliding patio door and Series 100 and Energy Star? qualified Series 200 vinyl windows, including architectural shapes and bay and bow models. Many of the Crystal vinyl windows, including the Series 200, 300 and 500, when ordered with special options, qualify homeowners for Federal ARRA Stimulus tax incentives available through the end of 2010.
