Crystal Windows Introduces Versatile Heavy-Commercial Sliding Window
Series 5600 Is AW40 & HC55 Rated with 3-1/4” Jamb
FLUSHING, NY, December 5, 2006 - Crystal Window & Door Systems, the award-winning national manufacturer, recently introduced the Series 5600 aluminum sliding window. The 3-1/4” jamb depth hung-sliding (HS) window has achieved, through independent national laboratory testing, architectural window (AW) and heavy-commercial (HC) classifications with AAMA 101-97 ratings of HS-AW40 and HS-HC55, respectively. The architectural window (AW) rating involves substantial cycle testing of the product and is regarded as a more stringent standard than the heavy-commercial (HC) rating. This new window is the latest advancement in Crystal’s continuing expansion into the high-end fenestration market.
The Crystal Series 5600 is suitable for many multi-family residential and commercial building types, for either replacement or new construction applications. The window’s 3-1/4” jamb size makes it a perfect replacement for older wood windows in buildings whose owners need or desire to upgrade to a heavy-commercial rated product. The Series 5600 sliding window is compatible with both the Crystal Series 5500 (H-HC60) double-hung and the Series 2100 (F-HC60) picture window models as well as many others in the company’s broad product line. Available in both 2- and 3-lite (OXO and XOX) configurations, the sliding window features strong, durable thermal-break aluminum frame and sash construction. Dual pane 1” insulated glass units with a PPG “warm-edge” Intercept spacer and double meeting rail interlock ensure excellent energy efficiency.
Some outstanding user features are standard on the Crystal Series 5600 sliders. These include continuous full height one-hand operation sash/frame clip lock pull rails and a continuous full sash height meeting pull rail. The window also features a stainless steel reinforced roller track on the frame and dual brass roller bearing units on each sash for long term trouble free operation.
Many options are available for the new window. Low-E glass and argon filling provide enhanced energy efficiency. Both between-the-glass and applied muntins are offered to add character and architectural style. An optional 2-1/2” face flange casement fin as well as panning, interior trim accessories and a wide selection of colors and finishes will surely appeal to specifying architects and installing contractors.
