Crystal Windows “Dunk Tank” Fundraiser for St. Mary’s Kids

FLUSHING, NY, June 19, 2018 –As part of its recent New York area Top Customer Recognition Celebration, Crystal Window & Door Systems featured a “Dunk Tank” fundraiser for St. Mary’s Kids. Crystal President Steve Chen, along with other executives, volunteered to be plunged into a tank of water as their trade customer guests tossed balls at the release target in exchange for contributions. The company executives were immersed numerous times to the delight of the crowd, and the event raised $1,100 for St. Mary’s Hospital for Children. The Crystal Top Customer Recognition Celebration was held at Terrace on the Park in Corona, NY, and was attended by over 300 fenestration trade customers, company suppliers, business affiliates, and company staff. The carnival-themed evening featured games of skill, a sledge hammer bell-ringing challenge, prizes, magicians, musical guests, and summer barbeque food in addition to the “Dunk Tank” fundraiser. For nearly 150 years, St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, located in Bayside, NY and Long Island, has provided advanced medical care for children born or stricken with life threatening illnesses and conditions, and support for their families. Their programs now touch 4,000 children a day, both at St. Mary’s facilities and at homes throughout the New York metro area. A supporter for many years, Steve Chen was honored by St. Mary’s at their 2017 Gala Dinner which raised over $630,000 for the hospital.
Crystal Windows Adds Vinyl Window Line to Newest Factory

FLUSHING, NY, June 18, 2018 –National manufacturer Crystal Window & Door Systems has expanded production at its newest factory in Northeast Pennsylvania (NEPA) with the recent addition of the Crystal Series 100 vinyl window line. The addition provides the company with greater production capacity and affords the company greater flexibility in production scheduling. In late 2015, Crystal acquired the PA factory, which required significant renovations and reconfigurations to accommodate window manufacturing operations. Since production start up in 2016, Crystal has been assembling three of the company’s 20 product lines there, and the Series 100 vinyl line is now the fourth. “We’ve spent time and effort renovating and preparing our facility for new production lines and now we are ready to utilize the space,” said Craig Calderone, General Manager for Crystal’s PA operation. “Crystal is currently fabricating three aluminum products here and now that we’ve added the appropriate saws and assembly equipment, the Series 100 will be the first of many more Crystal vinyl products to come. Further into the future we even have plans to add vinyl extrusion capabilities at this facility.” Presently Crystal extrudes vinyl window profiles only at its New York factory. The Crystal Series 100 vinyl window line is the company’s longstanding and popular basic vinyl model, offering good value and easy installation. The 3-¼” frame depth double-hung window has tilt-sashes, full width lift rails, constant force balances, dual vent locks, and half-screens. For enhanced energy efficiency, the product’s ⅞” insulating glass unit comes standard with low-E coating and Argon gas filling. Options include triple IGUs, between-the-glass grids, and spiral balances. The Series 100 vinyl window is the first of several vinyl product lines slated to be fabricated at the Crystal NEPA factory. New vinyl welding and corner cleaning equipment is scheduled for delivery and installation later this year, allowing many more of Crystal’s vinyl window and door lines to be manufactured there.
