BENTON TOWNSHIP, PA, May 24, 2018 – Karen Boback, the Representative from the Pennsylvania House for the 117th District, recently toured the new Crystal Window & Door Systems production facility in Benton Township, Lackawanna County, PA. Crystal Windows is a national manufacturer of vinyl and aluminum frame windows and their Northeast PA 336,000-ft2 factory, only a little over two years old, is one of the newest and fastest growing industrial facilities in State Representative Boback’s district.
During the tour Representative Boback viewed the impressive operation which currently employs over 90 workers producing insulated glass units, vinyl and aluminum frame windows, and aluminum frame doors. She also had the opportunity to meet Crystal President Steve Chen, learn of Crystal’s expansion plans, and discuss the needs of businesses regarding high school and community college career guidance, education, and training for potential future industrial workers.
“It was great that Representative Boback was able to see our factory here in Northeast Pennsylvania and get a sense of how committed Crystal is to the region and its workforce,” said Chen. “With her background and support for education at all levels, she understands just how important education and vocational training is to the future of manufacturing in Lackawanna County.”
